Frequently Asked Questions

How long will the services last?

The Friday evening service typically lasts about an hour. The Saturday morning service is usually about 2 ¼ hours.

What Jewish traditions will I need to know about during the services?

To attend — and enjoy — a Shabbat service on Friday evening or Saturday morning, you simply need to show up and be present. There are some things about services at our congregation that might be unfamiliar to some people. Here’s some information you might find useful. In the end, we’re just delighted that David’s family and friends will be present to support him and celebrate this special day.

My child may need a ride. Can we carpool?

Yes, we’d be glad to help arrange carpools. If your child needs a ride, please let us know: lori@kornfamily.com, 617-855-8030.

Is there parking at the  events?

Our synagogue has a large parking lot for the Friday evening and Saturday morning services. For the reception at Ryles Jazz Club, free parking will be available at one of Ryles’ three parking lots, reserved for our party. There will be a parking attendant in front of Ryles who will direct you to an open lot. For the Friday dinner and Sunday brunch for our out-of-town guests, on-street parking is available along Cedar Road.

I have questions that aren’t answered here. Whom should I contact?

We’re happy to help as best we can. Please feel free to contact us: lori@kornfamily.com, 617-855-8030.
